Sectigo Platform - New Look

Objective: Redesign the Sectigo platform to address issues with outdated visual effects and UX, while aligning with the new branding strategy. The goal was to enhance the user experience, ensure visual consistency, and update the technology stack to create the most user-friendly and powerful tool for selling and reselling digital certificates.

Problem Definition

The existing Sectigo platform, while functionally robust, felt outdated due to its fragmented visual style and inconsistent UX patterns. These issues were compounded by the use of outdated technologies, which limited the platform’s potential to serve enterprise-only customers effectively.

Challenges:

  • The global navigation was unintuitive, making it difficult for users to access critical features.

  • Data tables and reporting modules were cluttered and visually inconsistent, leading to a suboptimal user experience.

  • Dialogs and other UI elements felt disconnected from one another, creating confusion.

  • The overall visual aesthetic no longer aligned with Sectigo's new branding strategy.

Ideation

After synthesizing the research, we aligned on the core goals of the redesign. The focus was on:

  • Creating a consistent visual style that aligned with the new branding strategy.

  • Improving global navigation to enhance accessibility and ease of use.

  • Optimizing data presentation through better table design, filters, and reporting views.

  • Updating the technology stack to support modern design patterns and interactions.

Discovery & Research

We started the redesign process by conducting extensive research to gather feedback from both internal stakeholders and end users.

User Feedback: I reviewed CSM's interviews, the Aha wishlist, and feedback from support to identify pain points. Many users reported difficulties in navigating the platform, experiencing visual inconsistencies, and facing slow interactions with data-heavy components. We consistently gathered UX issues, compiling a comprehensive list of these pain points.

Competitive Analysis: I analyzed other Customer Success Management tools to understand industry standards and discover opportunities for Sectogo to stand out.

Prototyping & Testing

We created interactive prototypes using Figma and conducted usability tests with a select group of enterprise accounts. This helped us refine the design and identify any usability issues early in the process.

User Testing Results:

  • Users found the new navigation to be more intuitive and time-saving.The redesigned data tables allowed them to extract.

  • insights more easily, improving satisfaction with reporting tools.

  • Visual consistency across the platform helped reduce user confusion and enhanced overall usability.
